Well enough it is due to my experiences so forth.Whenever we try to do
any job, we tend to find out the procedure or the menu. What a chef or a cook
will call, a RECIPE !
In engineering jargon we call it a specification or a
Procedure. I have greatly been inspired by the NATGEO, DISCOVERY channels and
the features of the backyard science programme. They tend to make ENGINEERING a
miracle. But here we tend to make engineering a COOKERY SHOW with sizzling
recipes. When I took the field, I thought that I would be much able to make
such artefacts. Have I now?? What an unusual question.
I know MUCH, but I don’t
know WHY, WHAT and I don’t know HOW Confused?? Let me give an example… (You see
I am good in giving demos)
Take a wire; fry it on a pan till it becomes
golden brown.Add capacitor so that it doesn’t give out the extra current. Let
it simmer. Take out some transistor ketchup and an opamp marmalade to add to
the taste. For the soup, have resistors (Of good quality otherwise the soup may
burn out) and boil them in water using a power source. Add some voltage to
taste. Put the gravy and the soup in a plate and garnish them with some
currents and voltages.
That makes the Engineering recipe.
Righty called the
“BTECH CURRY” (Shockingly).
You people must have liked the procedure of the
recipe
You too can try it.
It is at least interesting. (Though I can’t guarantee
the taste and health concerning facts about it).Another beautiful recipe I
learned is that UJT AND BJT KOFTAS.If you get confused over their origin and
identity, then the simple thing to learn is that UJT KOFTA starts with a letter
“U” and BJT KOFTA with a beautiful letter “B”.Don't worry if you still get
confused ( like most students do) when they are put in front of you. You can
make out the difference by counting 1 to 10…Surprisingly the 10th one will
be the UJT KOFTA…(Numerical Luck u can call it)
Well I do remember that once we were in kitchen
(I mean the LAB you see), we got a new capacitor curry(I mean the capacitor)!!
We thought it might be a resistor curry(I mean the resistors)… (God I cant
understand why doesn’t the recipe books(I mean the engineering books) gives the
picture of the ingredients(I mean the circuits) clearly)...We got a miraculous
result after all…You can call, we are made to put adventures in our field so
well…Always puzzled, surprised, confused, anxious and then ultimately SHOCKED
at the end…What an experience!!!
We are in a world where Gadgets and machines play
a great and a wondrous role. A robot, a digital watch, a camcorder, an IPOD all
are engineering feasts…An ANTENNA of course. It is a device for reception and
transmission of WHAT and WHERE?? Oh God, I lost the WHAT and WHERE parameters
…It is because Antenna is a well groomed recipe…If it is tasted raw, it tends
to put a persons stomach to worry…We are just made to eat these uncooked
meals... why not then to COOK it??
What I mean:
Well this article isn’t only intended to make a
ten minute laugh or a bit of a recreation. I am focusing on the need of putting
practicality in use in our field which needs the most. No doubt our varsity has
made much effort to put these things in use and in our work. But has our
Government?? Has anyone focussed the need that students must really be aware of
these High Tech gadgets and machines? What you can call COOKING in the above
terms…I mean “Why not focus on these issues of making a digital and a new world
be seen now, which is just an illusion or just a recipe for us ”...Make us
aware of how these machines and gadgets really work and what they are actually,
otherwise God forbid we might ultimately cook these circuits or machines......
